The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, has mocked the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, born Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
He alleged that some NPP sympathisers are saying Chairman Wontumi would need an interpreter to understand the kind of English used by Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang during her unveiling at UPSA.
Speaking on Accra-based Onua FM with Nana Yaa Brefo, he said, “If you look at the kind of English that was spoken by our mother, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, at UPSA during her unveiling, I wonder how Chairman Wontumi would understand.
“Even some NPP sympathizers are saying that Chairman Wontumi would need an interpreter to make him understand the kind of English that Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang used. Because the kind of English she used was tough, and when Chairman Wontumi reads it, maybe he might not read it well and it might sound different to him."
He continued, as monitored by MyNewsGh.com, by saying, “And you are telling me to go and argue; at this tangent with Chairman Wontumi, he doesn’t understand this, so he’s quite funny.”
