A 50-year-old woman has been jailed for attacking police officers with human excreta and urine at her home at Afansie, near Poano in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Afia Martha was said to have walked to the two law enforcers and dumped a bowl of urine mixed with human excreta, on them. They were reportedly detailed to arrest a brother of the convict, Kwadwo Antwi.

She was convicted for assault of public officers and sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment term by the Bekwai magistrate court presided over by Nana Brew.

Police prosecutor, Detective Inspector Francis Osei Boateng, said the despicable attack happened on September 5, 2015 at about 5:30 am in the community.

According to him, the police officers, who are complainants in the case and stationed at the Anwiankwanta police station, were detailed by their commander to arrest Kwadwo Antwi.

The prosecutor indicated that while the officers were knocking at the door of the suspect, Afia Martha opened her door and saw the two cops.

They told her about their mission which infuriated Martha and ordered the cops to leave the house immediately or would be taught a bitter lesson, Inspector Osei Boateng continued.

He added that before the police officers could utter a word, the woman had assaulted them with the waste matter that was contained in a chamber pot.

She was arrested and charged with the offence after police investigation had been completed.
