An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a middle aged woman, Ama Forson to 11 years imprisonment for possession of narcotic drugs.

She has over the years been selling alcohol mixed with marijuana for her teeming customers who patronize the product.

The police upon a tip off arrested the mother of nine in October 2015 at New Bortianor in the Greater Accra Region after they stormed her drinking spot for a search.

They initially found a polythene bag containing substance suspected to be Indian hemp, they asked her who owned the bag but she denied ownership.

The police while on their search later found a bottle containing liquid they suspected was mixture of alcohol and marijuana, upon further testing by the police afterward their suspicion was confirmed.

Kasapa FM’s court correspondent, Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman reported that the Judge, Aboagye Tandoh, in his ruling spoke strongly against the use and sale of narcotic drugs and sentenced the accused to 11 years imprisonment to serve as a deterrent to other bar owners who sell such products.
