A 33-year-old woman is in hot waters as she has been grabbed in possession of stew which is laden with dried leaves, believed to be ‘wee’.

The suspect, identified as Gifty Addo, had carefully concealed the illegal substance in animal intestines, which she used to prepare the stew.

Gifty was trying to deliver the wee-laden-stew to her boyfriend, Yaw Odoom, who is serving a three-year jail term in the penitentiary, but she was nabbed.

Reports indicated that a female prison officer, who was on duty on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, around 3pm, managed to identify the illegal substance.

The reason for which Gifty tried to smuggle the substance to Odoom in prison was not immediately known.

But sources alleged that perhaps Odoom sells ‘the stuff’ to other inmates, who are also serving prison terms and Gifty may be his main supplier.

A source at the prisons that made the disclosure to the paper, said around 3pm on Wednesday, Gifty arrived at the prisons to visit Odoom, her boyfriend.

Gifty, a native of Kofiase, in the Ashanti Region, was in possession of a transparent rubber bucket, containing tomatoes stew, which was to be delivered to Odoom.

The female prison officer on duty at the time became suspicious so she thoroughly searched through the stew, a source disclosed to the DAILY GUIDE.

True to the officer’s suspicion, 13 mini parcels of dried leaves, believed to be cannabis and 10 blister packs of Tramadol 225mg, were found in the stew.

Gifty was instantly arrested and referred to the Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service, in the Ashanti Region, to deal with her according to the law.
