A woman believed to be in her late 30's was found dead in Borowase, a suburb of Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the newly created Savanna region in the early hours of Tuesday under very peculiar circumstances.
The woman whose name is given as Abena worked at a popular restaurant called 'Sankwan' inside Buipe and hailed from Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region.
Roomate of Abena (name withheld) at Buipe told Bole based Nkilgi FM that the deceased received a call shortly after they had arrived home from work the previous night and had gone to sleep.
She never returned after the call she explained.
Abena, according to the lady who is also a co-worker, is usually the first to arrive at the restaurant, hence she causally assumed it was one of those days she had gone ahead to work. She however got more concerned when she got to the restaurant and met her absence.
She was later called by a young man to help identify a woman who was lying dead in a pool of blood somewhere in the town. She arrived at the scene only to realise a huge crowd encompassed about the corpse (Abena), with blood oozing from her nose and mouth.
Many are still in shock and wondering what might have killed Abena.
The Buipe police are however still investigating the matter.
