A woman in Agona Nkwanta in the Western region has collapsed and died after witnessing two police officers brutalizing her nephew.

The boy who was arrested following a quarrel with the daughter of a police woman, Doris Vedzodzi, was handed over to Constable Sagbor who was said to have brutalized the boy in the presence of the Aunty and father of the boy.

The woman who couldn’t stand the Police brutality collapsed and died few moments later.

Speaking to the Starr News, the victim said, “I was asked by the police officer to sit at the counter back, then the girl’s mother asked the police officer to make me remove my shirt.

“The police on duty asked them to wait for me to be questioned before taking me to the cell. One of the police officers slapped me during the interrogation,” he said.

Two Police Officers at the Agona Nkwanta Divisional Police Command have since been summoned by the Western Regional Police Command following the incident.

Speaking to Starr News, the Public Relations Officer for the Command ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said, “They have been summoned, and the investigations have been going on since Monday…statements have been taken from both victim and the complainant, the victim has also been given a report to take to the hospital,” she added.

ASP Adiku added that, “after investigation we will take the next line of action. We are going to deal with it administratively and the criminal aspect of the police officers.”

She added, the accused officers have being summoned to the regional office for further probing.
