Woman bonded for assaulting ex-lover

Kade, March 23, GNA - The Kade District Magistrate Court on Tuesday bonded a woman trader who assaulted a former boyfriend to be of good behaviour for six months.

In default, Abena Boahemaa will go to prison for three months. Police Inspector Francis Cobbina told the court that Kofi Baafi, a farmer, and Boahemaa were once friends and had an issue. He said Boahemaa instituted civil action against Baafi for non-maintenance of their baby and the case is pending. The prosecutor said on February 16 Boahemaa went to the house of an aunt of Baafi and demanded GHC 110 which she claimed the woman owed her. A misunderstanding arose between them during which Boahemaa insulted=

the former boyfriend and his family members and left. When Baafi returned home and was informed about the behaviour of Boahemaa, he remarked that Boahemaa had been warned not to step in the ho= use again and he did not understand why she went there and misbehaved. The prosecutor said when Boahemaa, who was by then in a nearby house= , heard Baafi talking she rushed to the house and assaulted him.
