Winners of TNJ Africa "40 Under Forty" Achievement Award released

Accra, Oct. 25, GNA - The names of the 2010 African honorees for the much anticipated inaugural TNJ Africa "40 Under Forty" Achievement Awards to be held in Accra, Ghana, has been released. The Network Journal (TNJ) statement on Monday said the New York City-based premier monthly magazine for black professionals, corporate executives and small business owners are organizing the Award slated for November 6, at Ghana's Five-Star hotel, La Palm Royal.

Vice President John Dramani Mahama is expected to deliver a welcome address and also act as Honorary Chair of the Awards Dinner gala. "I am pleased to be a part of The Network Journal's "40 Under Forty" awards ceremony recognizing young achievers in today's business community. I believe that Ghana, as a pioneer in the Pan-African struggle, is the perfect host for such an important event," the statement copied to the Ghana News Agency quoted Vice President Mahama as saying.

Mr Aziz Gueye Adetimirin, Founder, Publisher and CEO of TNJ Communications, Inc., was also quoted as saying: "Our first class of TNJ Africa honorees hail from a diverse group of industries, including media, technology, science, arts, culture, finance, government and healthcare.

"Unexpected delays in receiving the caliber of submissions we sought and substantiating documents for all who did meet our criteria for this award did not allow us to reach the full complement of 40 honorees this year.

"As a branded event in the United States, and now in Africa going forward, the awards will return to the full complement of 40 honorees."

The statement added that; "This inaugural program has drawn from the dynamism of the African business and entrepreneurial community to recognize and honour 20 men and women under the age of 40. This select group will be profiled in a special October/November issue of The Network Journal."

The honorees are: Omokunbi Adeoti, Human Resources Generalist, Airtel;

Taiwo Adegboyega Adewole, Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, Taiwo Adewole and Associates; Esi E. Ansah, Chief Executive Officer, Axis Human Capital Limited; Elike Mensa Banibensu, Assistant Site Operations Manager, Affiliated Computer Services (Ghana) Ltd., a Xerox Company; Alexander Canfor-Dumas, GM Sub-Saharan Africa, GE Healthcare, General Electric Company.

The rest are Fatu Jalloh Cooper, General Manager, Liberia Woodwork Construction & Trading Corporation; Kofi N. Dadzie, Co-Founder/Managing Director, Rancard Solutions Limited; Mamadou Karim Diop, Vice President, Peacock Investments.
