Wife Stabs Husband

The Adentan District Police Command has arrested a 42 year old petty trader for allegedly killing her 45 year old husband with the excuse that he was having an affair with her younger sister.

The suspect, Gladys Adotey, was said to have committed the act last Saturday, around 6:30am when the husband had returned from work.

According to information available to the Daily Guide newspaper, the deceased, Felix Annan, 45, a security man at one of the leading estate developing agencies, engaged in a fierce fight with the wife after the suspect had accused him of having sexual relations with her sister.

The source said the husband grabbed a knife to kill the wife but as a result of the scuffle, Gladys overpowered the husband and fatally stabbed him. Gladys Adotey, according to sources, then rushed the husband to Legon Hospital where where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The source said the wife then lied to the police that the husband fell from a roof top after he tried to collect some wood. Confirming the story to this paper, the Adentan District Police Commander Stephen Ahiatafu, indicated that Gladys Adotey reported the incident to the station on Saturday around 2:20pm. “She told the police that the husband fell from their roof top after he tried to collect some pieces of wood.

The commander stated that the suspect also claimed that she rushed the victim to the Police Hospital where he died on the way. He said the body was referred to the Police Hospital for autopsy.

He stated that police investigations revealed the couple engaged in a fight, hence there were marks of violence all over the body of the suspect. DSP Ahiatafu averred that upon further investigations and interrogation, suspect Gladys confessed that the two engaged in a scuffle after the deceased had attempted to kill her and unfortunately the knife stabbed him. “The woman, after realizing what she had done, then rushed the husband to the hospital but he died on arrival,” he said. In an interview, the suspect revealed that she and her late husband had been married for about ten years and had three children. “When I was told that my husband had been sleeping with my younger sister, I confronted him.”

She stated that her husband gave her severe beatings and later went for a knife to stab her. “When I realized that, I struggled with him over the knife and in the cause of the brawl, the knife stabbed him in the chest,” she said.

Suspect Gladys Adotey revealed that she then rushed him to the hospital but he died on the way. She said for fear of being accused of murder, she concocted the story that the husband fell from the roof top.
