42-year-old widower, Bernard Otu, has rejected a compensation offer of GH¢10,000 from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) after an alleged 'medical negligence' led to the death of his wife and unborn child.

The plaintiff has dragged the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the Ministry of Health (MoH), Attorney-General’s Department (AG) and the Madina Kekele Polyclinic to court and is demanding a GH¢5 million compensation for the death of his expectant wife and unborn baby.

On Thursday, June 17, 2015, the plaintiff's pregnant wife, Cynthia Nuworsu reported at the Madina Kekele Polyclinic for delivery. However, she died together with her unborn baby girl the day after following a "ruptured uterus", as revealed by an autopsy report.
