Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has expressed optimism that the implementation of Africa-led initiatives to address the climate crisis will position the continent at the forefront of global climate action.
In a post shared on her X page on Friday, September 12, 2025, following the conclusion of the Second Africa Climate Summit, she wrote, "With the adoption of the Addis Ababa Declaration, we have moved beyond deliberating on the climate crisis to defining a new course of action. This declaration affirms Africa’s position, not as a passive victim awaiting charity, but as an active contributor in shaping sustainable solutions to global climate challenges."
