Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi, was spotted on Monday, October 7, 2025, transporting his constituents in a taxi.

In a video shared by a Facebook user on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, the lawmaker was seen picking up and dropping off passengers while engaging them in conversations about their daily lives and well-being.

When asked about his motivation for undertaking the activity, he explained that it was something he occasionally does to stay connected with his constituents to better understand the realities on the ground.

“This is not the first time I am doing this. I do it to know what is happening in town. You know, taxi drivers have information, and when people sit in the car, I am able to engage them because I do not get to meet them often. Before they even realise I am the MP, they would have reached their destination. It helps me to know what is happening on the ground. I will be doing this for three days,” he said.
