Who is the next Miss Ghana?

Accra - Sheer grace, charm and glitz is what is expected to be showcased at the Accra International Conference Centre today.

Expected to start at 7pm, Miss Ghana 99, the icing of this year's club Pleasure will see 20 beautiful and charming ladies in a contest that is set to pick a new beauty queen for the country.

Who this new beauty queen will be is what comes to the mind of patrons immediately, but by the end of the competition of Saturday, that question will be settled.

For now, one can only keep the fingers crossed and, at best, hazard a guess as to who will pick up the super prizes at stake for the contestants.

Perhaps, the most difficult task now lies ahead of the judges who now face the uphill task of selecting a new beauty queen tomorrow amongst equals.

This year, the winner will receive a prize package worth hundred million cedis.

And whoever wins the Miss Ghana crown will get a Car Move Daihatsu car, a two-bedroom house, a ticket to Miss World and ?3 million cash.

The first runner-up will receive a 20-inch television /video deck, a living room furniture ticket to London and ?2.5 million cash while the third person gets a dining room furniture, gas cooker, double Decker fridge and ?2million, a similar amount amount which goes to the remaining contestants each.

Thinking of the prizes would whet the appetite of patrons, but hold it. The organisers, Media Whiz Kids have a special side attraction package for patrons, as well which will see Paapa Kofi Yankson, Sonti Ndebele, Dan Nettey and KKD Jnr. Dance Champion '99 also perform.

With all these lined up for one night, what else could patrons ask for?
