Where was President Kufuor from Sept. 15 to 22?

-STARNDED IN LONDON

... British/Egyptian born multi-billionaire Al-fayed came to his rescue

Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor, President of the Republic of Ghana, on his way to the United National General Assembly in New York in the United States of America (USA), got missing in transit from September 15 to September 22 when he resurfaced in New York.

Announcing his departure from Ghana, Ghanaians were told that Mr. Kufuor would make a stop over in Canada for some official business before proceeding to the United States of America (USA). But the President did not make it to Canada as announced, causing the Ghanaian public a lot of anxiety as the President's where about was not known for almost a week.

Majority of Ghanaians became very anxious and apprehensive with the President's "disappearance" and demanded to know where their President was, but they could not get answers to the question.

Well meaning Ghanaians have always complained about the President's travels, especially his means of transport since he has chosen to travel by commercial flight after collapsing the national carrier Ghana Airways.

But your authoritative "The Ghana Palaver" can now reveal that the President of the Republic of Ghana got stranded in London as most of the planes at the time were not going his way, leaving anxious Embassy staff no option but to look for any available flight to New York.

Ghana Palaver sources in London have revealed that President Kufuor for some strange reason got stranded in London on his way to the UN General Assembly Meeting in New York and had to be rescued by the British/Egyptian born multi-billionaire Al-Fayed, owner of Harrods supermarket in London, who at the last minute, put at the President?s disposal a private Jet which flew him to New York.

According to our sources, the private Jet used by President Kufour was a Gulfstream 111, Jet III, the same as the Presidential Jet which President Kufuor swore by his father's grave never to use for six years and finally sold it for peanuts to a Chinese company.

Al-Fayed is the father of Dodi Al-Fayed, the late boyfriend of the late Princess Diana both of whom were killed in a tragic accident in Paris in 1997.

Our sources also informed us that President Kufuor and his entourage were subjected to most embarrassing, humiliating and un-Presidential treatment (searches) before they emplaned from London and also on their arrival in New York. The reasons for the searches are not yet known.

Since last week Wednesday, all attempts by "The Ghana Palaver" to speak to the Press Secretary to the President, Mr. Andrew Awuni, has proved futile as our telephone calls to the Castle have not been answered.

Travellers from Ghana are these days forced to endure such searches on account of the belief that Ghana is becoming a transit point for cocaine and heroin trafficking into Europe and the USA.

So at long last Ghanaians now know where the President of Ghana was between September 15 to September 22.
