Damongo, Sept. 8, GNA - The Damongo Government Hospital has no stand-by generator and this was hampering the operations at the hospital when electricity power went off, Mr. Damasus Ayamgba, the District Hospital Administrator has revealed.
He cited two instances this year alone when the electricity power went off during caesarean operations compelling doctors to resort to the use of lanterns and touch lights to complete the operations. Mr. Ayamgba made this known when Mrs Janet Jambia Alhassan, West Gonja District Chief Executive paid a familiarisation visit to the hospital to acquaint herself with the general activities there.
The visit took her to government departments and agencies, as well as Civil Society Organisations to introduce herself to heads and staff of these organisations and to learn at first hand problems that were militating against their operations with the view to addressing them. Mr. Ayamgba mentioned inadequate staffing, lack of accommodation and ambulance as some of the problems facing the hospital and appealed to the government for assistance to enhance quality healthcare delivery. Mrs. Alhassan assured the authorities of the District Assembly's support to enable them to provide quality health care services to the people. Sept. 08 05
