Former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has committed to fostering a stronger and more united New Patriotic Party (NPP), as he urges all party members to collaborate in rebuilding the party.
Emphasising the importance of collective effort in building a solid and functioning party, Dr Bawumia stated that unity is essential for achieving the party's goals.
According to a report by 3news.com on June 24, 2025, the NPP's presidential candidate for 2024 made these remarks during a meeting with former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from across the country in Accra on June 23, 2025.
He also expressed this sentiment on his Facebook page (@Dr Mahamudu Bawumia) after the engagement, saying, "Our quest to bounce back requires the collective efforts of all, and I urge my fellow patriots to join hands, so we realise this objective together."
"I am grateful for the overwhelming number of MMDCEs who have declared an intention to campaign for and support me. Together, we will make the great New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) stronger and better," he added.

Dr Bawumia's call for unity is particularly timely as the NPP prepares for upcoming internal elections and the 2024 general elections.
Following the meeting, the former MMDCEs held a press conference to express their unwavering confidence in Dr Bawumia's leadership and to endorse his candidacy for the 2028 elections.
The Vice President's message of unity has been welcomed by the rank and file of the party, who view it as a critical step toward ensuring the NPP's ongoing success.
"Following extensive consultations with all aspirants and after a thorough assessment of their vision, competence, and commitment to the NPP's progress, we are confident that these candidates can lead the NPP to victory in 2028," a statement by the MMDCEs stated.
"Our endorsement commitment. With 95% of us having previously served as constituency and regional executives—some for over 16 years—we possess an intimate understanding of the NPP's structures, dynamics, and electoral needs. We will deploy this experience to ensure Dr Bawumia's message resonates in every corner of Ghana," the statement added.
Dr Bawumia believes that by focusing on teamwork and a shared vision, the NPP aims to solidify its position, overcome challenges, deliver on its promises, and create a better future for Ghana.
