A family member of the slain immigration officer, Stephen King Amoah, has warned that the family will take action if they feel justice is not served in the case involving their relative.

During a court appearance on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the female relative of Amoah, expressed her outrage at the actions of the accused persons standing trial for his murder.

She vowed, saying that those involved in the heinous crime will not go unpunished and will suffer for their actions.

“If justice doesn’t go our way, we know what to do. As for Bright and what he has done, he will not go scot free. He must and will suffer, as well as anyone else who is involved. With what he did, he has disgraced and tarnished the image of our relative because we couldn’t even open his casket for people to file past and pay their last respects despite his stature.

“How can you kill, butcher and burn him? We should have given the dead body to him [Bright] to consume and maybe we would have been satisfied. And we will see if he could have stayed alive,” she fumed.

The suspects: Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah are standing trial for Stephen Amoah’s death.

At a press briefing on Monday, August 4, 2025, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, provided chilling details of the crime.

According to her, Amoah left his home on the night of July 3, 2025, after reportedly receiving photos of cash bundles from Bright Aweh, who had promised to repay a debt.

When Amoah failed to return home and his phone became unreachable, a missing person report was filed on July 4, 2025.

Police investigations quickly led to the arrest of Bright Aweh on July 6, 2025.

During interrogation, Aweh admitted to meeting Amoah and handing him GH¢500,000 in cash, claiming GH¢200,000 was to settle a debt, while the remainder was to be kept for him by Amoah.

Although Aweh has reportedly denied any involvement in Amoah’s death, police say investigations uncovered incriminating evidence, including blood stains and signs of an attempted cleanup at the prime suspect’s residence.
