The family of murdered investigative journalist, Amed Huseini Suale says it has confidence that the Ghana Police Service, which is investigating his killing, will do a good job.

The expression of the family’s optimism follows the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s first visit to the crime scene and the family at Madina, Accra, since the incident happened a week ago.

Ahmed was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck by unidentified men on motorbike late last Wednesday night while driving home.

The CID boss’s visit, according to the family, was to assure them of the police’s commitment to bring the perpetrators to book.

She also cautioned the media to be circumspect in their reportage on the matter, noting “a lot of things are being done” by way of investigation, except that they cannot put everything in the public domain.

“Have confidence in us,” she urged.

The family says it trusts the police to bring justice to them.

“We are relying heavily on the police to do justice to,” he told Winston Amoah on 3FM’s Sunrise, Wednesday, January 23.

Musah, the family spokesperson, dismissed claims that some foreign investigators had come to assist investigations.

He was categorical that “No nobody came to assist investigations”.

He said if there were whites, they may have been from one of the media houses that were present but not investigators.
