Members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) are in consonance regarding the need to provide Ghanaians with visionary, life-changing, and transformational policies, President John Dramani Mahama has said.

President Mahama said he and his appointees are committed to following the footsteps of the founders of the NDC, including former President John Rawlings, who became the democratically-elected president for two four-year terms after ruling for eleven years as a military man, as well as the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills, who died after succeeding former President John Kufuor.

President Mahama said he had demonstrated his commitment to developing the country through the inauguration of factories including the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region. The factory, according to the president, is expected to provide over 7,000 direct and indirect jobs for Ghanaians.

In a Facebook post on Monday June 13, Mr Mahama said: “We [NDC] are united in our quest to continue with the visionary, life-changing, and transformational policies that have improved the lives of many of our people in Ghana today. We are committed to following in the footsteps of our founders and my predecessor presidents.”

Last week, members of the NDC celebrated the 24th anniversary of the formation of the party.
