Presidential candidate of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) has vehemently denied claims by one Amadu Babia Latifa that, the party forged her signature on the presidential nomination forms.

Amadu Babia Latifa who is alleged to have signed for both the United Front Party (UFP) and the GCPP is accusing the latter of forging her signature.

In an interview, the lady agreed that the details provided on GCPP's forms were her own but denied endorsing Dr. Lartey stating that, “I subscribed for only one presidential candidate and that is Dr. Agyenim Boateng of the UFP. I know nothing about the GCPP, I was never a member of the GCPP, I don’t know where they got my details from.”

Asked how her signature could have appeared on the GCPP’s form, she stated, “they forged my signature. Because the only person or institutions who know my signature are my party members, Ghana Education Service and some financial institutions no one else knows my details”.

Her story was corroborated by Dr. Boateng who is upset for being disqualified on the basis of some body’s forgery.

But Dr. Henry Lartey in an interview with rainbowradioonline.com, quizzed how the party could forge her signature as she claims. According to him, the lady is rather creating problems for herself adding that, because the husband had been made a parliamentary candidate for the UFP, she went ahead to sign for them after signing for the party, GCPP.

"How can we forge her signature; and for what reason? If she's gone to sign for her husband, whose gone to sign for another party, she is the one creating problems for herself, because her husband has been made a parliamentary candidate for the UFP, she went ahead and signed for her husband and the party."
