The Commissioner General of Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr. Emmaunel Kofi Nti has said that the Authority needs to raise enough money to support the vision of the Nana Addo led government

Mr. Nti speaking at a press briefing on the implementation of the Tax Amnesty Act 2017 in Accra on 7th March said the Tax Amnesty Act is to give defaulting tax payers and potential taxpayers the opportunity to discharge their obligations voluntarily and at the same time opening the doors for potential taxpayers to register with GRA.

“With the vigorous pursuit of those who are not paying and at the same time opening the doors for potential taxpayers, we accept that the revenue will go up,” he said

According to him, the target for the authority for the year is 39.8billion cedis and he believes that the GRA we will be able to achieve its target if correct measures are put in place.

“We are hoping to redeem between GHC300 and GHC500 million cedis by 30th September when the Amnesty ends,” he said.
