Some customers of gold dealership firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited, whose investments are locked up with the firm, have threatened to smoke out the company’s chief executive Nana Appiah Mensah from his hideout to retrieve their funds.

The aggrieved customers on Wednesday issued a seven-week ultimatum to the firm and have vowed to use every means necessary to retrieve their funds, which the company has since August this year been struggling to pay.

According to them, the company promised to commence payment of their principal investment to them from November 9, but has since failed to honour its promise.

“We gave them one week ultimatum from yesterday. From there if nothing has happened...they should not think that they can run away. Anywhere, anywhere NAM1 is, we will smoke him out; anywhere he is. He cannot run, he has families, he has a wife,” one of the customers warned.

Mercy Aditiba who has her 20,000 cedis locked up, warned against the firm’s use of the Police to intimate them.

“When we want to go inside and ask questions, they say we will not enter into the office. About two weeks ago we were there; the police had to spray pepper on us. Now we have turned to be criminals. Doing investment now is even criminal thing,” she stated.

The angry woman continued “I don’t think the IGP has sent his men there to be intimidating us to the extent of even spraying pepper on us.”
