Member of Parliament [MP] for the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has disclosed that if proceedings against members of the NDC are not done in accordance with the laws of Ghana, they will forcefully make authorities act in the right direction.

According to him, the Ghana Police Service is now operating based on directives given them by the ruling NPP government, just to intimidate members of the largest opposition party.

“We will never give them the chance to dictate to us . . . if Ghana Police refuse to act per their laws then they should as well get ready to invite into their custody one NDC member everyday because we will not tolerate any nonsense as a party,” he stressed.

The former Sports Minister in John Mahama's era said the continuous investigations over allegations of kidnapping against their National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is a misplaced priority just to run down the election 2020 fighting spirit of the NDC.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, he affirmed they are not moved or distracted by the recent political attacks on some key members of their party from the government in power, but it has rather encouraged them to stand firm to face them in every angle.

“Members of the party in power must know by now that their frequent intimidations can never move us from our aim, rather it strengthens us to keep going towards our aspirations,” he added.
