We’ll die for NPP - Delta Force members

Delta Force members reaffirm their commitment to NPP Delta Force members reaffirm their commitment to NPP

Members of the pro-ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Delta Force say they remain committed to the party despite their ongoing prosecution at a Kumasi Circuit Court after their recent lawless acts.

According to them, their loyalty and love for the NPP are unconditional.

Twenty one (21) members of Delta Force are facing prosecution for various acts of lawlessness. The group stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, attacked and ejected the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator from his office about a month ago. It took the timely intervention of the police to save the situation and restore law and order.

Thirteen of the members were arrested for their involvement in the attack against the Security Coordinator. On the day they were arraigned before court and later remanded into prison custody, eight (8) of their colleagues attacked the court and freed them (13).

Their action was roundly condemned by a large section of the public who called for their arrest. Less than 24 hours after the act, the leader of the group Kwadwo Bamba was arrested by the Police. Others were subsequently held up by the police.

There have been rumours that the Delta Force group which the ruling NPP National executives have expressed knowledge of and actually employed during the 2016 general elections, are discouraged and have decided to quit the party for not being able to intervene for them leading to their prosecution.

But speaking on Kasapa News, the leader of the Delta Force, Nana Kwadwo Bamba stressed that the group leaving the NPP, will be the last thought that will ever cross their minds, adding that they’re okay having the law dealing with them.

“We’re not going to leave the NPP today nor tomorrow, we love the party and we’ll die for it. We’ve all these while supported the NPP to ensure the party comes to power to enhance the living condition of Ghanaians and not for only our personal gains. If we misbehaved and the President has condemned us and the law is taking its course, which saw us being remanded, that does not discourage us but teaches us lesson to be law abiding.

No one is downhearted, NPP is the only party we know and we remain committed to because it’s the party that will put the country back on the path to prosperity, after years of economic hardship under ex President John Mahama.“
