We'll Kill to win Power - Karbo

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) desperation for power can cause this country the relative peace and stability it is currently enjoying if serious steps are not taken to deflate the egos of the party’s flagbearer and some of his close posse. The actions and behaviours of the NPP leadership particularly the flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his all die be die mantra of violence has permeated the ranks and file of the party.

The National Youth Organizer of the party, Anthony Karbo has stated that the NPP is desperate to see change and desperate to see the presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the NPP youth would not hesitate to crush anyone who tries to thwart that effort. The party, he said, would use all possible means through foul or fair to capture power.

This cynical and warmongering advice by Anthony Karbo was made at the beginning of a three day workshop organized by the National Youth Wing for Constituency Youth Organizers in the three (3) Northern Regions in Tamale under the theme: “Strengthening the Youth Wing.”

He heightened his calls for war bycharging the youth to be militant during this year’s election because it is critical for the youth to be active on the grounds campaigning and battling for each inch of territory.

The three-day workshop aimed to bring the Youth Organizers in tune with campaign models on Radical Grassroots Mobilization, Canvassing and Message Targeting as part of efforts to strengthen the Youth Wings at the Polling Station and Constituency Levels across the country.‘Desperate to see change, desperate to see the Presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo, the Youth would not hesitate to crush anyone’

It would be recalled that the flagbearer of the party last year in Koforidua tasked party members to sacrifice their lives in defending the party for him to become president in the infamous ‘all die be die’ mantra, instigating members to prepare to kill for him to achieve his perceived birth right and political ambition at the expense the country’s peace and stability. Arguing his desire for violence, Nana Akufo-Addo pointed out that the brutality that rocked Atiwa during the by-election is just a little of the stormy aggression the NPP is preparing for the 2012 elections. This unfortunate utterance by Akufo-Addo serves as an inspiration to Karbo to call on innocent young future leaders to go to war.

He encouraged them to fight like what happened in Egypt and Libya where innocent souls were lost because of somebody’s selfish political ambition. “If the Egyptian and Tunisian Youths could do that, then we can also certainly do it,” he declared.

United Party (UP), the political mentor of the NPP engaged in political violence during Ghana’s pre-independence political struggle and continued the atrocities during the CPP regime. The party betrayed the country’s sovereignty by conspiring with the CIA to overthrow Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the development and visionary oriented first Ghanaian president.
