The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) officially commenced nationwide on August 4, 2025, beginning with the practical sessions.

The written papers, however, started on August 25 and are scheduled to run until September 19, 2025.

A visit by GhanaWeb on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, to Labone Senior High School in Accra found 148 candidates writing the Financial Accounting paper, while 37 candidates sat for Animal Husbandry.

Headmistress of the school, Rejoice Akua Acorlor, expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exams.

She noted that the strong preparation of candidates had contributed to the absence of challenges.

“We have prepared our students well, so I am not surprised we haven’t encountered any form of malpractice or absenteeism,” she said.

According to her, all registered candidates were present for their respective papers.

Security at the examination centre was tight, with officials maintaining strict supervision to ensure compliance with WAEC regulations.
