The police administration has disputed claims by the Director of Green Global Resources Ltd, that it is covering up for culprits in the $1.3 gold scam that led to the interdiction of the Legon Police Commander has accused the police administration of cover up.

Addressing the press yesterday [Tuesday], James Barberi took a swipe at the police administration for stalling investigations into the matter three months after the commander was booted out.

But the Director of Public Affairs for the Police Service, DSP Sheila Abayie Buckman says the company was well aware that the police has taken action against its personnel involved in the matter.

“From Police investigations, we realized that some five officers may be part of whatever allegations have been raised against them for misconduct, and these five officers were interdicted and as I speak to you now, they are facing internal disciplinary charges.” “The docket on them has also been forwarded to the Attorney General’s office for advice and possible prosecution.’’

The company she revealed has been in close contact with the police hence their claims that they do not have trust in the police, was not the best. The PRO was of the view that the company should have called on the IGP “for whatever is not being transparent to them to be made known to them…

I believe that, as I have been told, the investigative team has made every result of their investigation that they need to know transparent to them.”
