We gave NAM 1 our monies because we trusted your ‘endorsement’ – Menzgold victims to Akufo-Addo, Otumfuo et al

The customers say the endorsement gave a 'potential fraudster' the legitimacy he needed The customers say the endorsement gave a 'potential fraudster' the legitimacy he needed

Some aggrieved customers of alleged fraudulent Gold-Trading hub Menzgold have shifted from blaming official brand Ambassadors of the company; they are now accusing President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, Asantehene, His Eminence Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, National Chief Imam of Ghana and former President John Kufuor of being indirect accomplices of the Menzgold ‘scam’, MyNewsGh.com can report.

The angry Menzgold customers are saying they were pushed to trust the gold dealership because of what they saw as an “endorsement” Nana Appiah Mensah got from these four powerful personalities in Ghana.

“For a man who had unexplained wealth, it was such meetings that were going to gain him legitimacy and acceptance and the President certainly contributed to giving a potential fraudster the legitimacy he needed.” one of them wailed.

“I have personally heard accounts of Menzgold clients who say the photo of NAM1 with the President convinced them that the business was genuine and that made them invest in it. And, can you really blame them when the NAM1 being condemned as a fraudster now was given access to the father of the land? ” a concerned Ghanaian, N.Y Obuoba wrote.

On President Kufuor’s part, JAK is alleged to have praised Menzgold when the dubious gold trading company gave him a customized gold monument medals with an engraved image of him on it during the launch of the three-day Art Festival at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra, on 1st June 2018.

The former president Kufuor even endorsed the creation of several of the Customized gold monument medals to be auctioned to raise funds for his 80 at 80 project (JAK foundation). The JAK foundation has gone quiet since the shutdown of Menzgold.

“Why have they all gone all silent? We know they are part of the scam. It is a scam by the big people. Akufo-Addo and Otumfuo all know about it” an emotional Menzgold customer ranted to MyNewsGh.com after being assaulted by police at the Dzorwulu office of Menzgold, where he had hoped he could get his 17,000 cedis principal.

On President Akufo-Addo, it is believed that Nyantakyi forced him to meet Nana Appiah Mensah even though National Security had a reservation about the meeting. After announcing plans to sponsor the Ghana Premier League, which had been without a headline sponsor, Nana Appiah Mensah was led by Kwesi Nyantakyi to pay a courtesy call on the President.

MyNewsGh.com has confirmed from trusted sources that as part of the agreement for Nana Appiah Mensah to sponsor the league, Kwasi Nyantakyi was to facilitate a meeting between NAM 1 and the President which happened.

The meeting with the President Akufo-Addo came weeks after NAM 1 led a delegation of executives and staff of Zylofon Media and MenzGold to “honour an invitation by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to grace the Akwasidae at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi”, where the team landed with Nana Appiah Mensah’s alleged private jet.

After this, Nana Appiah Mensah received the National Chief Imam Sheikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu in his NAM Mission Headquarters where it was reported that Nana Appiah Mensah donated Ghc 1 Million as seed money for the setting up of the ‘Sheikh Nuhu Osmanu Sharubutu Educational Fund’ to support the education of bright but needy Muslims in Ghana, as MyNewsGh.com reported at the time.

Some Menzgold customers who have money locked in Menzgold have began launching attacks on the handlers of Akufo-Addo, Otumfuo and the National Chief Imam over this move, revealing that they began to trust the Menzgold brand due to these personalities’ association with Nana Appiah Mensah and Menzgold.

So far, following the bust of Menzgold, Ghanaians and some customers of Menzgold have been asking for the money gifted to the Chief Imam to be returned as it is believed to be part of the Menzgold looted cash by Nana Appiah Mensah.

“The owner of Menzgold also had the privilege of meeting the leader of the Muslim faith in Ghana, the Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu. A Menzgold client who is Muslim confessed to me that after seeing the photo of his leader with NAM1, that gave him the confidence to invest in the business. According to him, he planned to invest GHS 600,000 but increased it to GHS 1,000,000. That is power and influence a photo with the Chief Imam had.” a customer’s relative had said.
