The representative of President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on the Transition team, Yaw Osafo Marfo, has asked for time to clarify issues with the National Democratic Congress government to avoid enmity between parties involved and citizens of the country.

Members of the President-elect's transition team have accused the NDC government for allegedly awarding fresh recruitments into the public sector and fresh contracts days after they lost the elections.

But speaking during the teams meeting in Accra Monday, Mr. Osafo Marfo said it was very necessary to study issues at hand to ensure smooth and transparent transfer of power from the outgoing NDC government to the incoming NPP government because it was critical to the country’s democracy.

“Give us some time to study and raise issues with our counterparts and make sure there is clarity and transparency and a smooth transition of power. It’s very important. We don’t want to get into acrimony because of transition. It doesn’t help Ghana as a country because our image out there is relevant,” he said. Meanwhile all 31 ministries have submitted their handover notes to the Joint Transition Team, with the exception of the Office of Government Machinery.
