We are privileged to have Bawumia as a witness - NPP

Spokesperson for the NPP's legal team, Yaw Boabeng Asamoah, has lauded the star witness in the 2012 election petition, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his high level of intelligence exhibited during the 17 days of cross-examination by the three counsels for the respondents.

“Dr. Bawumia has shown he is brainy, he has honoured us the lawyers and the NPP party. He has proven he is the proper whiz kid of our time. He has shown his high level of acumen to the whole of Ghana, and we (counsels) are pleased with his performance,” he said.

According to Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah, Mr. Tsikata is a failure to the NDC in court and was supposed to have ended his cross-examination long before Wednesday 15 May.

“Tsatsu Tsikata is a 95% failure, and that is what he is doing in court. Mr. Tsikata finished his cross examination five days ago but kept repeating questions. It’s not surprising the Judges were a little bit harsh on him in court. He (Tsatsu Tsikata) did something in court which I have never seen in my entire practice as a lawyer, I am even ashamed to repeat him,” he said.

Tsatsu Tsikata had one of his worst days in court on Wednesday, when he was virtually hustled by the justices sitting on the case to end his ten-day cross-examination after masses of his questions he asked Dr. Bawumia were overruled by the nine panel judges.

“The outcome of this ruling will not only favour the NPP but Ghana as a whole. The one supposed to be the president must definitely be the president. If this case suspends, it will not help the nation’s development. Tsatsu Tsikata can never delay this case. It’s clear the judges are even fed up with him. Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia will surely come to power,” Yaw Boabeng Asamoah told Asempa FM in an interview.
