Wayo Blasts Political Parties

Founder of the defunct United Renaissance Party, Chuck Kofi Wayo, has once again, hit hard at the various political parties in Ghana describing them as “façade”.

Mr Wayo expressed worry over the numerous social challenges that politicians have allowed the citizens to face, and indicated that things were getting worse because various governments have ignored his pragmatic measures.

To buttress his point, he cited the sanitation problem on the University of Ghana campus, saying it is a clear example of the kind of havoc the country’s future leaders are exposed to, in the process of acquiring knowledge.

“75%, of all you know, is related to your environment, and we don’t teach these facts to the people. Go to the University of Ghana and see. I was there three days ago and their toilet is horrible, very bad. This is what the students grow up with, and they see places like Nima as normal,” he stated.

Mr. Wayo reiterated that “here in Ghana, the political parties are only a façade. In the night they are all the same and they go to the white man to pledge the country to them”. He accused the people of Ghana of allowing themselves to be victims of circumstances, but quickly added that the citizenry were not “dumb” to know that they were suffering.

The maverick politician alleged that the various press houses in the country are also in the pay book of politicians, and thus do everything to make the electorate believe “nothing is wrong”.

“(Various) governments, have built structures which they call schools, but in real terms, are not fit to be called a sty,” he said adding that even the “pigs would send their owners to court, should they be housed in those structures.”
