By the evening of Saturday, May 17, water will be restored to consumers in the Accra-Tema metropolis, an official of the Ghana Water Company has said.
Speaking on TV3’s Midday Live on Friday, May 16, Engineer Emmanuel Appiah, the Company’s Manager for the Accra-Tema metropolis, indicated that the routine maintenance, which is to be conducted from Friday evening, will see the installation of a valve on a faulty pipeline and not to work on the Treatment Plant.
Meanwhile, our reporter says the Company plans a major shutdown of the Treatment Plant in a fortnight as work conducted some months ago have not yielded the expected results.
The Plant has seen major shutdowns this year, resulting in acute water shortage in especially the Accra metropolis.
