A heartwarming scene unfolded at the funeral of the late Andrews Kwame Amankwah, father-in-law of GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi, when Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, personally wiped sweat from the face of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) CEO Malik Basintale.

Video footage from the event, shared on X on May 31, 2026, shows the First Lady arriving at the funeral grounds in a dark SUV with the window rolled down.

As the vehicle pulled up, Basintale, who was standing nearby in the sweltering midday heat, approached.

Lordina Mahama reached into her bag, pulled out a white tissue, and gently leaned out of the window.

With a warm smile, she carefully dabbed and wiped the sweat from Basintale’s forehead and face using her right hand. Basintale leaned slightly toward the vehicle to make the gesture easier.

The First Lady wiped his face several times in a caring, maternal manner before lowering her hand.

The moment occurred as Lordina Mahama joined other dignitaries and mourners to pay their respects to the deceased.
