The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has reunited a stolen baby with her young mother at the Mamprobi Polyclinic in the Greater Accra Region.
Following the baby’s recovery, Dr Naa Momo Lartey personally received the child and safely handed her over to the distraught mother, who is still receiving treatment at the facility.

In a video shared by GHOne on February 18, 2026, the baby was seen smiling during the emotional moment, while police officers at the scene engaged hospital officials.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly took advantage of a moment when the baby’s mother, who had undergone a caesarean section, was fast asleep after delivery.
The woman is said to have entered the ward and taken the baby without drawing attention.
The incident reportedly sparked tension at the facility, prompting police intervention. The alleged suspect is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
CCTV footage from the hospital premises captured the suspect leaving the facility with the infant wrapped in cloth.

The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed a woman calmly walking out of the hospital grounds with the covered baby.
The development sparked outrage within the Mamprobi community, with some residents reportedly rushing to the facility to demand answers from hospital authorities.
