A helicopter reportedly made an emergency landing at Ajumako Kokoben in the Central Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The flight with the identification 9G-ADW had four people aboard and made an emergency landing due to poor weather conditions.
A video, sighted by GhanaWeb and posted by Accra-based GH One on X on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, showed the blue and white helicopter landing in a park, which appears to be within a school compound in a community, with its rotor blades still rotating.
Local residents, seemingly shocked by the sight of the helicopter, were captured running toward it, trying to gather information and understand the situation.
The emergency landing followed a helicopter crash at Adansi Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, which claimed the lives of eight individuals.
The fatal crash occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the Ashanti Region as the officials were on their way to an event at Obuasi.
The names of the perished are: Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence; Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology; Limuna Muniru, Ag Dep National Security Coordinator; Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC; Samuel Aboagye, NADMO Deputy Director-General.
Also confirmed are the deaths of 3 Airforce officers, namely Squadron Leader Peter Anala (the pilot); Flying Officer Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
