Watch as a beggar parading as deaf 'magically' speaks after he was promised money

Every Ghanaian who has used commercial transport, popularly known as 'trotro', in the nation's capital, Accra, or the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi, probably might have received envelopes from persons who claim to be deaf, soliciting funds to support their activities.

Well, it turns out not all these people are what they portray themselves to be.

A video that has gone viral shows the moment a man, who has been pretending to be deaf to get money from people, began to speak.

In the said video, a man is heard castigating the self-claimed deaf beggar for allegedly faking his disability.

He is heard telling the beggar to stop pretending to be something he is not to scam money from people, after he was given one of the envelopes.

"Bossu, are you saying you are deaf and dumb… If you need money, just ask, because what you are doing is not a good thing.

"You have taken upon yourself a sickness which God did not. It is not a good thing," the man said in the Ga dialect.

He went on to promise that if the deaf beggar spoke, he would reward him with money.

The deaf beggar can be seen insisting that he could not speak, using sign language.

But suddenly, he told the man reprimanding him to return his envelope if he wasn't going to support him.

"Give my envelope back if you know you are not going to support," the beggar also fired back in the Ga dialect.
