Suzzy Pinamang, the young student at the center of a shooting incident at Adventist Senior High School, where a classmate accidentally discharged a firearm, hitting her in the eye, has successfully undergone surgery.

In a video update shared on Thursday, June 26, 2025, by the special aide to Ibrahim Mahama CEO and Founder of Engineers and Planners Limited and Dzata Cement Ltd, Suzzy Pinamang was seen in good health, moving about independently without assistance.

The footage also showed doctors at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom conducting eye tests to assess her recovery following surgery.

Sharing further updates, Rafik Mahama stated that Suzzy is on the path to full recovery.

“I am pleased to announce that Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang successfully underwent her scheduled eye surgery on June 2, 2025, at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom, one of the world’s leading and most renowned eye hospitals. The operation was a success, and Suzzy is now on the path to full recovery. She has already begun regaining her independence and is now able to see on her own,” he said.

Rafik Mahama went on to acknowledge key players who contributed to Suzzy’s recovery journey, and further expressed gratitude to the public for their unwavering support during her time of need.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams in both Ghana and the United Kingdom, particularly the exceptional team at Moorfields Eye Hospital, as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

“The Ghana High Commission in London, outgoing UK High Commissioner to Ghana, HE Harriet Thompson, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, Suzzy’s family, the media, Roger Pope Opticians in London and the general public for their unwavering support, commitment, and prayers,” he continued.

He added, “We are especially grateful to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, whose generosity and full support made this entire process possible for Suzzy. We continue to pray and hope for Suzzy’s steady progress and wish her a smooth and full recovery in the weeks ahead.”
