President John Dramani Mahama's arrival at the Manhyia Palace to participate in the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, was one marked by a lot of excitement, amid the general atmosphere of mourning.

In a video shared on X on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Mahama was seen clad in black as he paid his last respects to the revered queen mother and mourned with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on August 7, 2025, was the 14th Asantehemaa and the biological sister of the Asantehene.

She ascended the stool in 2017, following the passing of her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

She was celebrated for her wisdom, loyalty, and deep commitment to Asante traditions.

The four-day funeral rites, which commenced on Monday, September 15, are expected to conclude with her burial on Thursday evening, September 18, 2025.
