One person died in a tragic accident at Asamankese, in the West Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
CCTV footage shared on social media by Akwatia TV shows the moment a long trailer, with registration number AS 7637-15, rammed into several cars, knocked down pedestrians, and crashed into a stretch of shops.
The cause of the accident remains unknown; however, reports gathered by GhanaWeb indicate that it occurred on the Asamankese main road near the lorry station.

The accident resulted in one fatality and left two persons in critical conditions at a hospital.
Damages included the destruction of shops along the stretch and several vehicles, including a Toyota Yaris, a Toyota Vibe, and a taxi.

Tuesday’s accident follows a similar incident recorded in Asamankese in August.
CCTV footage captured a truck, believed to have lost its brakes and control, ramming into a Dukes Fuel Station pump before crashing into a nearby shop.
