An old video recorded prior to the passing of the late Founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has resurfaced, in which he recounted his life story, sharing how a miracle surrounded his birth.

In the video, Dr Safo Kantanka explained that he was born wearing a red garment, much to the surprise of those present.

He added that, in addition to the red attire, a rainbow also appeared around him.

“I come from Asumenya and a member of the Aduana clan. My mother and father were from the same household and it came a time where my father left Asumenya to an underdeveloped village which only had a methodist school.

“That was where I was born and the day I was born, I came wearing a red attire and I was also surrounded by rainbow. I don’t reveal this because that is my strength,” he stated.

Dr Safo Kantanka, who was also an inventor and the Chairman of the Kantanka Group, further revealed that after his birth, people had to bow down before they could carry him.

He explained that those who failed to do so were unable to lift him because of the rainbow that appeared around him, adding that only by bowing did the rainbow allow people to carry him.

“Anyone who wanted to carry me as a baby had to bow down before doing so else they can’t carry me. Once they bow down, the rainbow that was surrounding me paves way to allow them carry me. I am not an ordinary being,” he continued.

He also narrated that because of these events, he was taken to a river in his village at just eight months old, along with a local delicacy of mashed plantain with eggs (etor), and left there, as the people claimed he was not human.

He added that after leaving him by the riverside, the people returned home only to find him there.

“People didn’t understand how such things were possible and so, at the age of eight months, they prepared mashed plantain with eggs (etor) and carried me along to a river and left me there, claiming I wasn’t human. After leaving me behind, they returned home only to find me home, to their surprise.

“Growing up as a kid, I started making cars using bamboo sticks… I can do everything. I left the village to Accra in January 1965 as a young man. Shortly after I came to Accra, my father died in 1969 and my mother died in 1975. I am the last-born child of my parents out of six children,” he added.

Dr Safo Kantanka, speaking about how he began his church, said he started it in his room with just two people, which has now grown into a full-fledged mission.
