The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained and extinguished a fierce fire that broke out at the Budget Deco warehouse, near the Graphic Press in Adabraka, Accra.
The fire, reported at 4:12 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, was already at an advanced stage when the first appliance from the Accra City Fire Station arrived at 4:19 PM.
After hours of intense firefighting, the blaze was confined to the affected warehouse at 7:02 PM, brought under control at 8:42 PM, and fully extinguished by 11:52 PM.

In a press release dated October 3, 2025, the GNFS said six additional fire appliances, a turntable ladder, a GNFS water tanker, and two private water tankers were deployed to support the operation.
Items destroyed included curtains, carpets, flowers, upholstery, and furniture, while parts of the warehouse collapsed due to the extreme heat.
Swift intervention by firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to an adjacent warehouse containing rice, a nearby hotel, and the DTRT textile and clothing warehouse.
One firefighter was treated at the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Deputy Director of Operations, ACFO II Osmond Anum, and Greater Accra Regional Commander, ACFO II Rashid Nisawu, together with other senior officers, provided operational leadership during the exercise.
