The West African Examination Council (WAEC) says it will release the rest of the Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) results by the end of this week.
The Council released the results of over 400,000 BECE candidates last week leaving out others.
But the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPAS) needs the full compliment of results before it can commence their postings into the various Senior High Schools(SHSs).
In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe confirmed the decision to release the rest of the results to help with the postings.
“The rest of the results should be ready by the end of the week. After we conclude investigations, we’ll cancel the results that needs to be cancelled and we’ll release the rest,” she said.
Candidates from some 321 schools had their results withheld by the Council, pending investigations into alleged examination irregularities.
A statement released by the Council said 180 candidates had their subject results cancelled; while 22 candidates had their entire results cancelled for sending mobile phones to the examination hall and receiving external assistance.
