Voting going on peacefully at Akwatia

Akwatia, Dec. 28, GNA - Voting is going on peacefully and orderly with no report of any incident from any part of the Akwatia constituency. Security has been tight at polling stations with armed police, military personnel and police patrol team touring the constituency to avert any disturbances as happened at Akwatia on December 7. As at 1230 hours, 361 out of 598 registered voters had voted at Akwatia Lorry station A, At the nearby lorry station B, 383 of the 617 eligible voters had cast their votes as at 12.35 hours. Two hundred and twenty-seven out of the expected 401 voters had exercised their franchise at Zion Church A as at 12.15 hours with 223 having voted at Zion Church B out of the 402 registered voters. At Yoruba Mosque A, as at 12.10 hours, 630 out of the 890 registered voters had voted while 411 out of 819 registered voters had cast their ballot at Yoruba Mosque B.
