Vote on party development records - Sadique

Bolgatanga, June 2, GNA - Mr Boniface Abubakar Sadique, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing has asked voters to critically examine political parties' achievements before casting their vote in December 8, 2008.

He said this at the weekend at Bolgatanga, Upper East Region when he met with the Zongo Communities to highlight some of the positive development programmes of the NPP Government. He had earlier visited water project sites in the Region to find pout the developments so far. Mr Sadique noted that, the destiny of Ghanaians for the future would depend on the kind of choice they would make in the impending elections.

He said the NPP Government had brought about a lot of innovative developments, which had impacted positively on the lives of Ghanaians including the Capitation Grants, the School Feeding Programme, National Health Insurance Scheme, Microfinance and Small Loan Centre (MASLOC) among others.

He stated that, inflation and bank interest rates had reduced drastically as compared to previous years.

Mr Sadique said the Government attached much attention to the youth, which explained why it created the National Youth and Employment Scheme to offer employment for the youth. On the question of being made the running mate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo of the NPP, Mr. Sadique said the decision was left to the the Flagbearer himself and the party's National Executive Council but added that when given the nod, he would serve the Party diligently. 2 June 08
