Vote for socio-economic image transformation - Aspirant

Accra, Aug 27, GNA - Madam Majorie Adorkor Ashiakwei, an aspiring assemblywoman for La-Koo Electoral Area in the La Dadekotopon Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, has called on the electorate to vote for her in the forthcoming District Assembly elections to transform and raise the socio-economic image of the people in the area.

Madam Ashiakwei who made the appeal when she embarked on a house-to-house campaign to solicit votes at Labone/Girls School Unit of the area, said she had single-handedly assisted vulnerable women to acquire soft loans from banks to expand their businesses.

She said when elected as an assemblywoman, more avenues would be open to her to extend assistance to cover a number of electorate, especially school drop-outs, to curb teenage pregnancy, which was becoming alarming in the area.

The aspiring assemblywoman said she would work in close collaboration with teachers and non-governmental organisations to raise the standard of education of the pupils and students.

"I will practice local governance to the door step where I will interact with the people on the ground and together identify problems militating against our development and find solutions to them."

The La-Koo Electoral Area which is the largest among four, stretches from the Airport, the License Office, Burma Camp and Labone Secondary School, all in the La Dadekotopon Constituency.
