Volta River Authority Commissions Library

The Volta River Authority (VRA) on Tuesday commissioned a library centre for the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) in Accra.

The library was renovated by VRA and stocked with books and a computer.

The inauguration is part of VRA's 40th anniversary, and aims at binding the relationship between VRA and GhIE.

Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, Chief Executive of VRA, encouraged engineers to patronise the library to attain more knowledge for building the nation. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the brain drain of the country's engineers.

Ing. Asafo-Boakye, past president of GhIE, lauded VRA for honouring its pledge to renovate the centre.

He called on fellow engineers to add marketing to their engineering course, since it will broaden their knowledge.

Ing. Brian Adomako, GhIE President, recounted the numerous assistance the centre has benefited from VRA and called on other companies to emulate the gesture.

The centre for the moment is limited to members of the Engineers Centre; the general public can however register to use it. It operates Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 7pm.
