Cargo plane belonging to Allied Air on Saturday June 2, crashed and landed at the Hajj village near El-Wak Stadium in Accra.

The cargo plane which landed at the Kotoka International Airport lost control and crashed into collided with a Mini Van (207 trotro) killing ten people while the four crew members on board survived and are currently receiving treatment at the airport hospital.
Airport authorities said the Boeing 727 Allied Air plane which had flown in from neighboring Nigeria "over shot the runway".
Vice president Dr. John Dramani Mahama who had just returned from an assignment in Brazil was at the scene and cautioned against making wild speculations and called for calm as the situation was under control.
"No early conclusions should be drawn. We should allow investigations to arrive at the actual cause. But I can assure Ghanaians that the situation is under control," he said as he sympathised with families of the victims.
The Vice President John Mahama spoke at an emergency meeting conveyed to brief the nation on the state of affairs after the accident.
The airline information gathered started operations in Ghana in 1998.
