Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has said President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will record a one-touch victory in the 7 December elections, after touring seven out of the 10 regions in the country.

He said the NDC had gained traction ahead of its competitors mainly because of the achievements and character of the leader of the party, John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing party supporters after a 12-km walk for victory through the principal streets of Nungua, in the Ledzokuku constituency, Mr Debrah, said although Mr Mahama and the NDC would win comprehensively, there was the need for each and every supporter and sympathiser to intensify the house-to-house campaign and make known the achievements of the NDC under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama.

Party bigwigs who joined the walk include the Member of Parliament for the area, Sena Okiti Duah, Greater Accra regional Chairman Ade Coker, regional campaign coordinator Sylvester Mensah, presidential staffer Mawusi Dzirasa, NDC communication officer Solomon Nkansah, and former youth organizer Ludwig Hlordze.

Others were Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, campaign team member Faustina Nelson, Deputy Communications Minister Ato Sarpong, among others.

In his remark, Mr Ade Coker charged the crowd not to rest on their oars but stay vigilant until the election was over. He pointed out that “everybody must play his or her role effectively in order to maintain President Mahama for a second term and Sena Okiti Duah in parliament”.

Ms Okiti Duah called on the supporters to sustain the momentum and keep the spirits high because “victory is around the corner”.

She urged NDC supporters to endeavour to keep a close eye on the ballot by being watchful and smart on Election Day.
