Vice President presents Kente for Dr. Nkrumah's statue in London

A new Kente cloth was presented to the Madame Tussaud Center in London to replace the old and faded one on the statue of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, first president of the Republic of Ghana.

The Vice-President Prof. J.E.A made the presentation on behalf of the President, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, the government and the people of Ghana to mark the 90th birthday of the late President Nkrumah. Present at the ceremony were Mr. J.A. Laryea, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. J.E.K. Aggrey-Orleans, Ghana's High Commissioner to the UK, officials of the High Commission and a large number of Ghanaians, including members of the UK and Ireland branch of the NDC and the progressive forces.

The Madame Tussaud center, a well-renowned tourist attraction in London, which houses a collection of statues of celebrities, including statesmen and world leaders. According to Ms Diane Moon, an official of the center who conducted the Vice-President and his entourage round the center; about 14,000 visitors patronize the center daily during the peak season.
