Vice President ends his five-day visit to the Czech Republic

Prague, Nov 14, GNA- Vice President John Dramani Mahama at the weekend ended his five-day official visit to the Czech Republic with a call on Ghanaians to continue to live in peace and unity for government to fulfil its development agenda.

During his stay in the eastern European country, the Vice President addressed a trade and investment forum organized by Ghana's Embassy in collaboration with the Czech Republic on the opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

The forum also offered both countries the opportunity to display their areas of comparative advantage and where they could strike bilateral and economic cooperation.

He also visited Veclav Klaus, President of the country and Prime Minister, Petr Necas where discussions centred on the revival of the Kumasi Shoe and Jute factories, the Aboso Glass factory and Komenda Sugar factory. Vice President Mahama also held fruitful discussions with the management of SKODA Group of Companies on the likelihood of introducing urban light train system in Accra and other major cities of the country. SKODA Power has also given the assurance to help Ghana to generate more power and transmit electricity to other areas and even beyond Ghana's borders.

The Vice President also held talks with the West Bohemia University in the City of Plyzen on exchange programmes with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the areas of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He is expected back in Ghana on Sunday night. 14 Nov.10
